Collection System Technician - I

Apache Junction Sewer District (AJSD) is the sewer service provider for the City of Apache Junction.

AJSD is seeking an individual to perform skilled work and manual labor involved in the installation, maintenance, operation and repair of the District’s wastewater collection system.  Qualified candidates for this position must possess an Arizona commercial driver’s license or obtain a CDL within one year of hire date.

The Collection System Technician - I position is a safety sensitive position that requires knowledge of and adherence to the highest standards of safety, technical knowledge and independent judgment.

The individual selected for this position will be required to perform on-call duty outside of regular plant hours, including evenings and weekends, on a rotating basis. 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Grade 1 Wastewater Collection System Operator certification from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) or obtain within one year of hire date
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or obtain within one year of hire date

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in a wastewater environment which includes exposure to raw sewage and certain chemicals, and the proper use of related personal protective equipment (PPE)

Collection System Technician - I

Apache Junction Sewer District (AJSD) is the sewer service provider for the City of Apache Junction.

  • Prior experience operating a hydro-jet cleaner and vacuum combination truck
  • Prior experience operating a CCTV sewer inspection unit
  • Knowledge of appropriate regulations and procedures for confined space entry and trench safety
